Job Description

• Develop and implement sustainability policies and strategies to drive JSB’s transition towards a sustainable energy company.
• Monitor and report on key sustainability metrics and performance indicators to track progress towards goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability principles into all aspects of the business, including project planning, operations, and decision-making processes.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in the sustainable energy industry and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
• Develop educational programs and training sessions to raise awareness about sustainability issues and encourage behavior change among employees.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and community organizations, to support JSB’s sustainability initiatives.
• Ensure sustainability programme processes and operations compliance with environmental and governmental regulations.

Education

Educated to degree level in sustainability, corporate responsibility, environmental science, business management or have gained experience in relevant sustainability roles.

Knowledge

• Knowledge of national and international standards and guideline in preparing the sustainability reports (i.e., Bursa Malaysia Reporting Guide, Bursa Malaysia’s Sustainability Reporting Guide, IFRS, TCFD & MCCG 2021)

Understanding of Malaysia’s main sustainability policies, trends and UNSDGs

Experience

At least 5 years’ of experience in sustainability management, preferably in the energy industry.

• Strong project management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

• Deep understanding of sustainable energy technologies, practices and regulations.

Special Requirements

• Ability to travel when needed.

• Proficient in English
